March 21, 2019 FTHP Kick Off Cook Out

Every year, Feeding the Homeless Project, Inc. hosts a Kick Off Cook Out where we invite our current and potential sponsors to a wonderful and delicious lunch of BBQ Ribs, lollipop lamb chops, burgers, kielbasa, hot dogs, sausage, sides, and desserts all made by our AMAZING Grill Master himself, Barry Sunderland.

It is our way of saying “Thank You” to all of you for being so generous with your donations, contributions, time and talents. We could not do what we do without the generous support and sponsorship’s of this metro Atlanta community we call family.

We are also truly blessed by the giving and loving hearts of our active FTHP family members that come out week after week, in the rain and cold and sweltering heat of summer and give so much of themselves, so selflessly.

This year we honored a few very well deserving folks. The Community Service Leadership Award for 2018 was presented to Dan Kaufman and his team at JE Dunn. Every year they go above and beyond in partnership with FTHP. We are truly blessed to be one of the recipients who benefit from the proceeds from Hammer Down Dunn Run and they embrace us as part of their family.

The 2018 Donny Edwards Award was presented to a man who embodies the true meaning of giving back, Tim “True Grits” Farley. He has such an incredible relationship with almost every single person on the streets that we serve each week. He knows each one by their name, their favorite sport, and will give the shoes off his feet or the shirt off his back without a second thought.

Our newest award, the Extra Mile Award, goes to another incredible and well deserving person, Bill Mueller. When we opened up our second feeding location at Whitehall, Bill took the lead and ran with it and has never looked back. He has made that feeding site and the folks who frequent it his mission to give them a hand up, not a hand out. He has worked tirelessly to help a man who lost his way a few years ago to get off the street and start a new beginning. One at a time…

We are forever grateful for all that make Feeding the Homeless Project successful. Our Board of Directors, Team Leader, Service Team Leaders, Volunteers and our Sponsors. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
